    Very Simple Bird Feeder

Silly thing was that I was quite casual about the squirrels stealing food. It was the destruction that sealed their fate.

    Very Simple Bird Feeder

I find peanut kernels are almost a dead loss. By far the most popular is the sunflower hearts, followed by black sunflower and fatballs. Having lost several feeders to squirrels I purchased a couple of Squirrel Buster feeders and the squirrels gave up within a coupke of days. Not seen them...

No need to - my resident Robin found the door mirror on my car for himself!

    Aggressive robin

You could try hanging a small mirror (budgie cage variety or similar) near the feeders. That might enrage him and keep him occupied while the others feed.

    Blackbird Behaviour

I have had a resident family of Blackbirds, and their descendants, here for over 30 years. One thing I have learned in that time is that they do not have 'normal' behaviour that can be relied on from year to year. Also, some have been hand feeding tame whilst most are slightly trusting...

    Anti-social (yet intelligent) pigeons

I don't know if it's testosterone kicking in but the Woodies who hang around here have been having very loud 'woo hoo hoo' contests from dawn to dusk this last week. I like them but they are beginning to put a strain on our relationship.
