    Thank you, I like to mix different medias, but I haven't tried anything like that. I love that artwork!     Wow, lots of responses :D Thanks everyone :t: Will try sketching again soon, I would have done more of the swans- they were making lovely shapes whilst preening, but it started raining and smudging my sketchbook! it's hard to find somewhere where there are birds that stay relatively still...

    White tailed sea eagle, in coloured pencils (but the background colour is watercolour) drawn from a photo I took of a captive bird last year. I would love to see one in the wild, but I'll have to wait for that!

    nooo, you shouldn't compare eachothers work.but anyway, your waaay better at field sketching than me, looking at that gull sketch. I've never came close to that! Had a look at your blog- looks like your good at photography too! I like to photograph and film birds too :) love the lesser spotted...

    the progress so far- using cheap coloured pencils and a 'burnishing' white pencil which I rub over the coloured pencil to blend the colours together and smooth it out. (last pic is slightly blurred)

    Your bird drawings are absolutely amazing. I have never seen such great coloured pencil work! I find not many people use them anymore. I haven't in a while in fact, but now you've inspired me, I might give it a go tomorrow :)
