If anyone needs a camo cover I have a couple of spare ones.

    AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f5.6E ED VR

I agree, AF seems very reliable on my D7200. Also I cannot replicate the AF issue related to the recall for the firmware update even though mine is one of the first lenses released.

    New Nikon 300mm f/4 VR

Highly unlikely but anyway the 1.7x gave me the best results overall

    New Nikon 300mm f/4 VR

Thank you for your kind comments. AF with the 2x works with cameras that support f8 AF (D7100, D7200, D750, D800, D810, D3, D4, D4s) from the top of my head AF with the 1.7x worked well even with consumer cameras (D5200)

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

I follow this workflow for my edits: Open the raw files in Adobe Camera Raw and do some brightness adjustments (shadows, highlights) Open the file in photoshop where I use unsharp mask (radius 0.8, Threshold 3, Amount depending on the photo) And then, if needed, apply noise reduction only on...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

Isaac kindly send 2 raw files which I edited and he agreed to post the results. Discarding colour differences, probably because of my monitor's calibration, you can see below the sharpening artefacts I mentioned when crops of the same image are put side by side. I explained my processing steps...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

I did not write this in an offensive manner so I am really happy you took it in the way it was meant. I think the best way to explain what I mean is if you send me, by private message, a RAW file of one of the birds (i.e...

    New Sigma 150/600 contemporary

I agree that the images are very sharp, albeit a little over sharpened as at 100% you can clearly see sharpening artefacts. Overall they are very good images. I wish I had the opportunity to shoot so many lovely birds at such a close distance and in good light so often. I must admit that I am...

    New Sigma 150/600

In Cyprus I had the chance to compare a canon 1div and 7d2 with the Canon 500mm mk1 and 1.4x II versus the Sigma 150-600mm contemporary (using the same cameras) and also the Nikon 300mm pf with the 1.7x and 2x with the D7200. Results from the 3 sets were almost indistinguishable so that proves...
