    Ecuador Elaenia sp?

    I photographed this bird on August 18 at WildSumaco lodge in Ecuador. WildSumaco is in Napo on the east slope at an altitude of about 1500 m. Small-billed versus White-crested? Per eBird, Small-billed is more commonly reported, for whatever that may be worth. I have absolutely no experience...

    Costa Rica Elaenias

    I had originally marked these down as Yellow-bellied Elaenias, seen in March 2014 at the La Amistad Lodge (south CR, next to Panama border). Could they be Lesser Elaenia? First two pics are same bird. Third pic is same area, but about 40 minutes later, so it may or may not be the same bird...

    Two from Honolulu

    Saw these two birds today. First one at Kapiolani Park; Gray Francolin? There are three pics of the second bird from Ala Moana Park. Not sure on this one, but maybe a Saffron Finch? Thanks.

    Ducks in Hawaii

    Pictures taken yesterday in Waikiki, HI, at Kapiolani Park. How can I tell when I have a hybrid duck vs. a relatively pure Hawaiian Duck? Pretty sure #2 must be a hybrid with that yellow bill. How about #1?

    Another So Cal flycatcher

    Here are two pics of the same bird seen at Whitewater preserve in So Cal. This one seems to have a longer bill than I expected for Hammond's, but does seem to have a long primary projection. According to Sibley's, Dusky should have a short primary projection, but based on the photos I've seen...

    So Cal flycatcher - Hammond's?

    Here are two pictures from yesterday at Morongo Valley in Southern California. They are from about 5 minutes apart in the same general area, so they may or may not be the same bird. I am thinking Hammond's due to the small bill and long primary projection.

    Gnatcatcher from Arizona, USA

    I saw this Gnatcatcher within the last week at Patagonia Lake in SE Arizona. Unfortunately I am not great with remembering calls, but was wondering if Black-capped Gnatcatcher could be confirmed? This was in the same area (Nutting's wash) where it is currently being reported. Thanks.

    Empid from Arizona, USA.

    Chicago Warbler
