Traveller BGA 8x32 ED vs Nikon Monarch 7 8x30

The case I believe is cordura with an leather overlay on the flap.... I’m not sure if it’s genuine or faux leather to be honest. The Kite Lynx HD caught my eye but I’m not quite sure if it’s worth extra couple of hundred pounds/dollars over the Traveller or Monarch.

Traveller BGA 8x32 ED vs Nikon Monarch 7 8x30

I must’ve been lucky with both pairs. I didn’t notice glare in either the Monarchs or these to be honest. Eye placement required a little more thought with the Monarchs. The focusing is definitely much more refined on the Travellers, far more crisp resulting in getting a sharper image quicker...

Traveller BGA 8x32 ED vs Nikon Monarch 7 8x30

Well a complete change of heart after spending a morning viewing the Travellers against the Monarchs. Optically very little between maybe just a fraction brighter for the Travellers. The thing that swung it for the Opticron’s in the end was the ergonomics and smoother/faster focusing. The...

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42

Thanks Bob. I was surprised how little there is between them optically, with the omission of ED glass in the Diamondbacks not really an issue as I couldn’t differentiate between the two. I’m sure the more knowledgeable amongst you would be able to mind you.🙂

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42

Thank you. I left a comment on his review. Agree entirely with his views on the Monarch 5 vs Diamondbacks, both very close optically but the wider FOV is going to be the clincher for me.

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42

Thanks Bob. I felt that may well be the case.

    Some discount on Hawkes.

I’ve tried the Endurance ED in 8x32 last year and from my recollection they did appear brighter than the HD X. I would’ve ordered the HD X in 8x42 but was put off after viewing the x32.

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42

I’ve now decided after ordering several 8x32 models I need to go with 8x42’s. I now have the Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 along with the Diamondbacks HD 8x42. I’ve got them both for 14 days before I make a decision which one is right for me. There’s really not much in them as far as I can see, I don’t...

    Some discount on Hawkes.

Hi Sadly I sent the 8x32 back, I just didn’t get in with them. I struggled with good eye placement and the image seemed rather flat and dull. I would’ve liked to try the ED X 8x42 instead but they’re above my price range sadly.

    Some discount on Hawkes.

I managed to bag the Hawke HD X 8x32 last night before the midnight deadline. 😎

Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30 vs Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 vs Viking Merlin Ed 8x32

I was looking at those as they ticked a lot of my boxes, however I saw the Hawke Frontier HD X 8x32 with a 15% off discount code via eBay so took the the plunge and ordered them.

Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30 vs Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 vs Viking Merlin Ed 8x32

They also have the ProStaff 7s 8x30 for £149. I can’t find many reviews on this one mind you.

Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30 vs Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 vs Viking Merlin Ed 8x32

I just finished watching this thanks. The Viking’s appear to punch above their weight. I’m surprised the Hawke Endurance finished at the lower end of the scale.

Nikon Prostaff 7s 8x30 vs Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 vs Viking Merlin Ed 8x32

I’m looking for lightweight 8x30/32 binoculars, the criteria for such are obviously good optics with phase coatings at least but must be sub 500g if possible, the latter two of my options come in above 500g. Due to lockdown it’s a struggle viewing all of these. I did order both the Momarch 5...

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Opticron Natura ED 8x42

Thank you Richard. I think all of the M5 sold here in the U.K. are ones with ED glass and dialectic coatings so your comparisons make for interesting viewing.

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Opticron Natura ED 8x42

Ouch!! That’s some amount for optics costing less than £250 in the here and now. I was surprised at just how much sharper and brighter they were against the Terra ED’s so it will be interesting to hear your views on the comparison for the above.

Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 vs Opticron Natura ED 8x42

I know it’s another comparison thread for someone who can’t make their mind up. 😁 I’ve already got the Nikon’s and have them for another 20 days before I have to return them. I also had a pair of Zeiss Terra 8x32 up until yesterday to compare side by side but compared to the M5 they weren’t as...

    Endurance ED Quality Issues

I've had two pairs from Hawke prior to these and no issues whatsoever, these are definitely of shoddy standards a one off hopefully but the retailer where I purchased them from said all of his stock had indentations on the front barrels where the eye pieces connected. On the flip side of that...

    Endurance ED Quality Issues

Sadly since manufacturing moved en mass to China QC has been an issue for many products in life. There needs to be an overall improvement in this area but that will come at a costs to us the consumer I'm afraid, still I'll rather pay a few pounds more than continue down the lack of QC road.

    Endurance ED Quality Issues

I've had two pairs of Hawk's before without any issues regarding build quality, these however were poorly constructed which is a shame as optically I was impressed by their sharp bright view they gave. I've sent them back to Hawke and I do rate their CS highly, but I want a cherry pair to...

    Endurance ED Quality Issues

I purchased a pair of 8X32 Endurance ED last week and they arrived on Saturday. First impressions showed the optics were very sharp and colours looked very natural with no obvious signs of biases towards other colours, not being a optics expert but to me I could see no colour fringing though...

    Cheap Bins

Well my new Hawke Endurance ED arrived and now they're going back due to poor finishing on the rubber armouring. At first I didn't notice it until friend pointed it out, there were indentations on both the front barrels with a bubble on the right one. I emailed Hawk and sent them pictures and...
