Yep-- I never thought of grey catbird but that's what it was. The position of the tail reminded me of a peeved mockingbird, and he had that darkish area on his head that seemed to give the illusion of a crest. He matches the id photos for sure. Thanks! I couldn't find any photos of the other... -

At Arthur Marshall---had an encounter with a gorgeous doe. We keep trying to find the bobcat and were told there are little ones....Darn snail kite in the westernmost area just before the levee, and I usually get there just before sunset, so even though he's close it's not too great for photos... -

Backyard nature show - jays vs hawk
Wow! It's so neat to see all the bird fights this time of year as well. A guy in my office has decoded some crow and grackle "caws" to mean "Hawk! Haul a**! Hawk! Haul a**!" -

Went to Ocean Ridge natural area Thursday night. It made up for all the failed Owl Prowls of last year. GHO flew by twice and then perched in a Red Mangrove. Heard several Screech Owl calls but didn't see any till I got back towards A1A. Played the call on my phone and then it seemed they... -

Birding Campground? Florida!!
Just came across Palms and Pines in Felda. Sounds cool. Says it's a certified wildlife habitat. In any case they are on FB. And a tour of the place is featured at The Big O Birding festival. -

Snail Kite
The bus system in that area and for Central Florida in general is called Lynx. You can go to their site http://golynx.com for schedules and contact info. I don't know if it goes where you want to go but it's worth a call. The coverage is far more extensive than I thought it would be. -
