    Sparrow in Central Texas

This small sparrow in Central Texas USA, was flushed from the low grass and flew to a thicket above the water's edge of a lake. It made no noise and in the area are up to 10 sparrow species. Thanks in advance.

    Warbler in Central Texas

These photos were taken on April 27th in Central TeXas. The bird was flitting through a pecan grove, midway up the canopy. There is a small rufous patch on the bottom of the outer wings and the dark lower eye makes me think early Prarie Warbler. However, they are quite rare around here, even in...

    Small bird in California

These shots were taken on 8/2/2018 on a beach near Monterrey, California. I'm pretty sure it's something quite common, but it was the only time I have been out west and I cannot decipher the species. Thanks in advance.

This bird was photographed (poorly) on 9/11/2016 in Central Texas, USA. The area was a tree line near a large open space. A challenge from Cape Cod, Massachusetts

All of these were taken on Cape Cod, in Massachusetts in early December. I first apologize for the terrible photography, I know it doesn't help. As for the 2 birds, one i though to be a Merlin, but I cannot be sure. While he is perched, his head is turned away from the camera, in flight though...

    Merlin or Sharp-shinned?

This little raptor was in Waco, central Texas, USA on 11-1-2014. The wings look more like a sharp-shinned but the tail looks a bit too stunted. Both are appropriate for the area at this time. Thanks in advance!

    Warbler? In Connecticut

These were taken in Connecticut about 1 mile in from the shore on 8-6-2014 in a heavily wooded area. This area usually fields almost exclusively Yellow Warblers in summer but this one? The strong facial pattern and white under parts looks quite off for a Yellow Warbler. Immature...? All of the...

    Shorebirds in Central Texas

All pictured on May 26th at a sewage treatment facility in Central Texas. I believe that I have 3 separate species here. One being a Pectoral and the other being a White-rumped, but I cannot figure out the other smallish one with the yellow legs. Probably a Least. Regardless, I appreciate any...

    Flycatchers in Central Texas

All of these were taken on May 25th, between a corn field and a large open area with sparse trees in Central Texas. I know flycatchers can be difficult, but 01 and 02, same bird, have a completely black bill, which is throwing me off. Any help is much appreciated.

A few few birds from Copa, in the Yucatan, Mexico

These are all from either Copa or Tulum, which are pretty close to one another in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. I have been able to ID most of the other species photographed, but these 4 elude me. 001 and 002 are the same bird. The range was too far to get a decent look at the last one, 005...

    Red-faced Cormorant in Washington, US?

This bird was photographed near Olympic National Park in northern Washington State, US on 7-18-2013. Everything about the bird says its a Red-faced, but that bird has not been reported in that area (via ebird) since 1999. This should be a Double-crested by all accounts, I would assume, but it...

    Warbler in Central Connecticut, US

Hello all, this one was photographed on 10-12-2013 in an abandoned golf course in Central Connecticut. I am unable to positively ID the species though as it has characteristics of a few different species. Initially I went to Orange-crowned, but all of my research shows at least a faint eye line...

Flycatcher and Plover on Isla Contoy, Yucatan Mexico

I realize this may be impossible given the similarity of so many flycatchers, but there was no singing so I am stumped. As for the plover I am still learning the patterns. These were shot on 3/27/2013 on Isla Contoy, off the Yucatan Peninsula in southern Mexico. Thanks in advance!
