    Wren nesting

Thank you for the tip, Mick. That is what I have been figuring - her being a victim of a predator. There are red-tailed hawks and cooper's hawks around though not many. I will wait till tomorrow before opening the birdhouse to examine the eggs. I don't know why that I do not get any...

    Wren nesting

She incubated her eggs for about 10 days, and I thought the eggs were just about to hatch. Unfortunately, she has not returned since she left more than a day ago. I feel helpless and do not know what to do. Could anyone shed some light or offer a tip on this? The incubating wren left the...

Sorry, I really do not have clue.

Thank you, David. Maybe I should blame the angle. I usually have some clue when seeing a pigeon from above.

Sorry, I really do not have clue.

Sorry, I really do not have a clue. I tried at a Google+ birding community, but could not get any tips. I have always had good luck here. Here are the photos (this forum cannot handle high res photos so I have to do it in this way)...

Wren nesting in a camera equipped birdhouse

The nest construction in another camera-equipped birdhouse (NW01) finally started two days ago (2013-06-13). A wren couple are working full steam at it. At this speed, the construction will be finished in no more than a week.

Thanks, Lisa, for the hint. I did not know they also have maternity leave. BTW, your bird photos are stunning. Hong

    Where have black-capped chickadees gone?

From the last fall till late April this year, there were multiple flocks of black-capped chickadees enjoying a feeder in Eastern Mass every day. They essentially disappeared in May. I have just started to see a few of them at the feeder, but not nearly as many as before. They are not...

    Wren?

Thanks, folks. The confirmation is all I need. I assume there is no way to tell male and female apart. I do not know whether more than one wren are building the nest.

    Wren?

Here is the video. Since both the video and the pictures are B/W, I am not confident in identifying it definitively. I have not seen the bird other than via the camera because the birdhouse is at a remote location. Thanks in advance. Hong

    Birdhouse for Black-capped Chickadee

Thank for the tips. The Sialis page is extremely informative and solid. I noticed the following: "Initially they MAY not be attracted to a box with a hole smaller than 1.5."

No, the box is empty. Thanks for the tip. I heard that too. I am going to try that.

    Birdhouse for Black-capped Chickadee

I am wondering if any experts could take a look at the birdhouse, and let me know if its location, hole size (1 1/4"), design is appealing to Black-capped Chickadees. I have seen many Black-capped Chickadees checking it out by sticking their heads into the hole, but they have never entered. I...

    Do swans in Massachusetts migrate?

Thank you, Bill and Jim. I assume they are mute swans. I saw them last week. I thought that they usually showed up in March or April. It has been exceptionally warm here. It sounds like that they just hang aournd this area. Hong

    Do swans in Massachusetts migrate?

There is a swan couple in our local (Ipswich) pond. I thought they are usually gone in the winter. I am not sure where they go, or they just stay and hide somewhere locally. Hong
