    Yeah, I know a birder who's planning a trip to Oman. Sounds like it'll be outstanding. I'd settle for just visiting Salalah in Dhofar - for a good chance to catch up with Arabian Golden-winged Grosbeak. Then there's a whole lot of other great birds there too

I suspect the best thing to do is plenty of research on trip reports and study EBird maps etc. Identify the sites nearest the airport and factor in accommodation, car hire, food.
