The main factor is the Seeing or steadiness of the air and the transparency, clarity. The first is important for planets. I don't know how the Kowa 88mm cools, but astro refractors need about 20minutes. Newtonians 30 mins and Maksutovs up to an hour. Say 20C to 5C outside. If the temperature... -
