    If its the place Im thinking of there is a car park off South St/Barlows lane. I assume the Scaup is on one of those pits. Should be highlighted by the red circle in this link, but the aerial image is a little out of date...

    Lee Id think about going for the Ashley Warren birds, if you sit unobtrusively by the hedge you may get one come close. They do occasionaly sit in the roadside hedge, but with the birding traffic recently that is less likely, 4 present the other day, and upto 5. Another reasonably close site...
