    Some of those Oystercatcher BIFs are quite outstanding. I have a 500 f4L MK2 and would love to get even half as good a result as what you're getting..................

    But it is f6.3 at the long end (meaning f9 with a 1.4X T/C). It may AF towards the wide end of the zoom range but what's the point of that? Unless 'fooling' the camera into thinking it's f5.6 works with a T/C too. Ooops Roy got there first.

    Not sure if that is just a rumour but if it is true it is almost as heavy as my 500f4 MK2!

    I'm with Roy here. Unless it is priced over $2000 street price (minimum) I have a feeling this will be just another cheapish third party telezoom. It may not be of course, the latest Tamron 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 lenses are supposed to be pretty good. Having said all that even if it is not so...
