    Adobe photoshop?

    Maybe that's their aim, but AFAIK the GIMP was used by professionals who made the film "Shreck". So it will certainly cut-the-mustard for amatuers. And saves on the wallet also, being free OSS ;)

    Why not use GIMP. It's free (as in free beer) and it works with any and all operating systems. It is also widely supposed to be better than Photoshop, but I've no experience of that overpriced app.
