    User report, Kowa Genesis 8x33

Thanks for that excellent test, Piergiovanni. I'm pleased to see confirmation of my impressions (and Oetzi's) but was nevertheless a little surprised at the degree to which the Kowa outperformed the Zeiss FL in sharpness and contrast. Jan Meijerink's tests indicated that Kowa achieve good...

    User report, Kowa Genesis 8x33

George, I didn't really feel able to make a reliable assessment of the relative brightness of the 8x33 Genesis and the 10x42 SV. Despite the similar exit pupils, the difference in magnification complicates a subjective judgement. The Albinos test of the Genesis showed a rather good transmission...

    User report, Kowa Genesis 8x33

Anders, Nearly all bins will show some astigmatism towards the field edges and the 8x33 Genesis is no exception. Thanks, Ron. There were a couple of things I forgot to mention. The focusser operates clockwise to infinity and the focussing elements are negative (they shift towards the objectives when approaching infinity focus). The white "Prominar" lettering on the surrounds of the focussing elements has...

    User report, Kowa Genesis 8x33

I recently purchased a Kowa Genesis (Prominar XD) 8x33. My desire was for premium performance, but as a no. 3 binocular in addition to a 7x42 and 10x42 I could not really justify the higher costs of the Europran premium competitors. The intended use was for travel, when also carrying scope and...
