    I tried a slug of $1K roof-prism binoculars and I think the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x32 is still the best for the money!

    I also looked at 10x binos around that price point and went for the Opticron Aurora 10x42s. Ergonomics were the deciding factor. Too much eye relief on the others.
