    The fish would have been a salmon kelt returning from the River Doon after the rigours of spawning. They are in very poor condition having not eaten for some months, and are dark in appearance with skin flaking off giving the piebald colour you mention. I thought there was a stoat the other day...

    Garden birds tend to go off feeders when insects/grubs are readily available. It is possible a sparrowhawk has been terrorising them? My feeders (in Ayr) have plenty goldfinch, greenfinch, chaffinch and coal tit. Blue tit numbers are really low as my six nest boxes all failed due the weather :-(

    Just park at point A and walk straight across the grass to point B. Nothing is private and tresspass wont apply

    Dundonald camp used to be an RAF camp many years ago, its all Council houses now, the signage is not releavant any more
