It's been quite a while since I last posted on this thread, but this seems the right moment to reactivate it. The link on post#1 seems to be dead, but kb57 was kind enough to post a new active link on this other thread. Here it goes: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/cams/panama-fruit-feeders/...

A new mammal species, a second species of opossum, was seen yesterday night: https://twitter.com/PanamaFeederCam/status/975329027497000960 Anyone knows which species is this? Apparently they are considering this a Common Opossum in the tweeter feed (only acknowledging it to be a new individual...

Trying to find the Wren tweet atm. The link to the "Bananaquit" (the one that turned out to be a Buff-throated Saltator) clip is here: https://twitter.com/Saidhbhin74/status/974444333733679104

Is there a link to the photos?

The "Bananaquit" on the "background vines" of the twitterfeed is clearly a Buff-throated Saltator. Major size and structure misjudgement. :eek!: EDIT: Ooops, crossposted with Mark Harper.

Potentially an immature (? or non-breeding?) male. I can't see the wings properly, but they should be the same colour as the mantle in females and darker in males. Agree on species.

A hummingbird on the background (extreme far left of the image) at 18:03:15. Can't ID it...

I was watching the squirrel as well. Looks very different. Does anyone know which species?

I was also checking back and the GH is also visible at 11:55 and 14:36. It seems a higher than usual diversity was present at the feeder today, with multiple visits by the oropendola, the jay, aracaris, 6-7 species of tanager, euphonias, etc...

Well spotted! Yes, I think Tennessee Warbler is correct :t:

Agree with your IDs, very nice. Also, at 18:22:35 (Panama/webcam time) there was apparently a Rufous-tailed Hummingbird feeding on the purple flowers on the background (you can still scroll back and see it for about 3.5 hours more from now).

Live Cornell Lab Panama webcam: Canopy Lodge

Indeed they have :) They are Dusky-faced Tanager and Chestnut-headed Oropendola, respectively.

The larger one is one of the Owl butterflies (Caligo sp.).

I haven't visited the feeder cam for a while. Has anyone seen any new species?

Live Cornell Lab Panama webcam: Canopy Lodge

    I think you're referring to a male Thick-billed Euphonia.

Very nice addition, already mentioned in the Cornell page. Note the webcam is not located on the tower but on the lodge, which is in a different part of Panama.

Nice addition. 18 bird species now. Any suggestions re the second opossum species? (could it be a small/young Common?) I guess any new bird species will be difficult to add to this list, but perhaps there's some "seasonality" there?
  24. RafaelMatias

Live Cornell Lab Panama webcam: Canopy Lodge

Together with a Spot-crowned Barbet! :eek!: The list is already outdated! :eat:
