    They certainly get some. There was a Red-breasted Goose on Fair Isle that was more or less being hand fed. A Bar-headed Goose kicked around Shetland a couple of years back. There are two Snow Geese from a German zoo that have toured the Northern Isles and were still on Foula a couple of weeks...

    There was one on the Isle of May last year, there's not much habitat for them on most offshore islands.

    There are several others rare or scarce in Shetland. There hasn't been an accepted Jay. I don't think there has been a Tawny Owl and Barn Owls are rare even though there are a couple at the minute. Blue and Great Tits are scarce and Coal Tits are rare. Kingfisher, Dipper, Treecreeper etc.
