Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

Thank you very much @Gijs van Ginkel for the nice report. Are those values in Table 1 measured values? I have doubts about the Habichts 10x40. Is it really have 16 mm of eye relief? I remember someone mentioned the actual FOV of it is even a few meters larger than the FOV mentioned on the...

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

Thatโ€™s the case. The posts so far I read about x10 SFL were not so positive as ones about x8 SFL. It seems everyone buying x8 SFLs. However the situation was other way when Swarovski introduced NL. Most of the posts (at least equal amount) were about x10 NL compared to the x8. And it is well...

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

I think SFL 8x40 and NL 10x42 would be a great match. I regret not buying NL 10x42 and buying 8x42 instead. It seems SFL 10x40 is not good as NL 10x42 in terms of CA control and other optical parameters to combine with NL 8x42.

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

I also wanted to buy a 10x32 to complement my NL 8x42 and planned to buy an NL. However, if the SFL is noticeably brighter, equally sharper, and steady in the hands I would go for it. So, I am really looking forward to seeing your comparison. It doesn't matter the time as still, I have to wait...

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

That's great news @Brummie There are not so many reviews about SFL 10x40 here, but mostly for 8x40. I am very curious to see your detailed review. Especially, I would like to know how it compares with NL. If my memory is correct you have an NL 10x32 in addition to your NL 8x42. It will be a...

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

Thank you @henry link for your kind reply. I specifically asked about the real-world resolution among the binoculars you mentioned earlier; 8x42 NL, NV, and SF. @Conndomat has also given an answer. I know they have many other differences such as color rendition and contrast and those also affect...

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

@henry link Thank you for the information. I wonder how this sharpness difference affects the real-world experience without using a mag booster. Do you think without mag booster we could see a difference in resolution on the resolution chart? I am sorry for asking basic questions. I am new to...
