Ed- Peregrines, Wow!-Speechless. Arthur_ Lovin' it! The dunnocks in the cottoneaster at the end of my garden have been busy over the last couple of weeks, I hope I get to see the chick, especially if my sketchbook's to hand! Thanks for the positive comments all, gives me just the sort of boost...

Tim those are superb as always. I particularly like the terns -all of 'em. I think it's the interesting angles that get me going, rather than the 'straight from the side' thing that I'm sometimes guilty of. I should have mentioned that two of my starlings are, in fact, blackbirds- which would...

    May Sketchathon!

I've been quiet - I've been suffering from a crisis of confidence for a couple of weeks but I think it's passed now. So here are the last couple for may. The weather has been awful so my opportunities have been limited but the garden is always there! It has been fascinating to watch our...

    May Sketchathon!

Everyone's been posting some great stuff, too much for me to comment on it all, suffice to say, I've not seen anything on this thread that I've not appreciated. There's some great talent here on BF. Hopefully I'll add some more of my scratchings by the end of the day as it's the end of May. Woody

'Tis indeed Arthur. I'm off to the preview this evening, it will be the first showing of my ringed plovers on the pebbles, and probably the redshank too among other, older stuff, so I'm quite looking forward to it. I see also that, in the ad, my painting of wigeon over Oare has been attributed...

Lovely Arthur, I agree with the others that bottom sketch is spot on. You're quite right, I can't get enough barn owls! I love it when they fly straight at you. My 'local' barn owl seems more cautious this year, I wonder whether the brood is not so big this year so he's not hunting quite so...

Glad you said that Nick - It's my favourite too. I think the redshank on the fence may turn into a painting but I've got so many ideas at the moment that my head's spinning as it is! :D Woody

Wendy, I agree with what others have said except that the wheatear is my favourite. It feels right to me having been watching some very smart males over the weekend. You've caught that upright stance perfectly. Love the landscapes too, I'm planning some en plein air myself in the summer...

I've not been able to get out as much as I would like (I suppose all day every day is a bit much to ask!) But I've had some opportunity: Woody

I'll try to get out as much as I can. Should be interesting to see how much we come up with collectively. Woody

Now that's a good idea. I can get somewhere for a couple of hours I'm sure, I wish it could be the whole week but I think that would be wishful thinking! Keep us in the loop. Woody
