Good luck! 8 degree fields are probably here to stay in the 7 x 42s. And 8 degrees is rather wide anyway. There are now only two alpha 7 x 42s being made. Leica and Nikon. Zeiss and Swarovski dropped theirs. Bob -

Only the "style" has appeal here. Every thing else inside them, most certainly the type of prisms used, would have to be changed and their costs would still have to be in the range of the Swaro CL if they were going to compete with them in performance. Bob -

Omid, I don't think that the new Nikon EDG line was intended to replace the HG L line. The EDG is a completely new binocular. It looks nothing like the HGL/Premier line did. It has different prism coatings, ED glass, a new diopter mechanism, longer eye relief, wider oculars, improved eye cups... -

Why worry about the warranty if one is going to buy the newest, latest and greatest binocular every other year that one comes out? Make it a 1 year warranty instead. All the bugs should fall out in that period of time. Then the prices of the new models should be lower since we all know that...
