    Unfortunately, Phil, I don't think many reading this will be surprised. For a while now ,I've been uneasy with the widescale publicity of scarce bird's breeding sites on the internet. Ring ouzel in Cheshire as a breeder must be close to extinction ,yet this site is mentioned every year on here...

    Yesterday, redstart in song by the road at the eastern end of the main reservoir -as you go towards cat & fiddle . Also common sand here at water's edge. Just as we climbed out of the valley at derbyshire bridge ,we saw a pair of ring ouzel plus a male stonechat.

    Was up there myself today for an extensive walk with the wife. Apart from many willow warblers , the only migrants I picked up were 2 tree pipits in song between the main res. and the woodland walk.
