    That's global warming for you ... ;-) We had 10 days or so of nice weather down here in Cornwall, but I still didn't see many butterflies in that period. Back to winter again here now (but that's probably only relative, compared to up north).

    They are about ... but well camouflaged! I've only seen 5 - one on the back door when we lived in Falmouth, the other 4 in three separate places after cutting bramble and they appeared out of the cut material. Not tried active searching.

    Still a struggle to see butterflies, although just about daily Peacock in the garden or elsewhere now. Two Holly Blues in town a week ago whilst waiting in the Health Centre car park, and a newly hatched stick insect sp. in the car 2 days ago (I'd been clearing brambles from the garden).

    Only seen two butterflies in the last few weeks - a Red Admiral briefly in the front garden, and then today, whilst on the phone I happened to look out the bedroom window and a small brownish butterfly in the wind - fortunately it landed about 6 feet away - a nice fresh Speckled Wood.

    Had a Red Admiral fly past me this afternoon at the same location as the Peacock the other day. There's not much in flower at the moment out in the countryside, but presumably they'll find what there is ...

    Out for a few hours today. Warmest day of the year (?) - at any rate sunny and temp in double figures I believe, but still surprised to see both Peacock and Small Tortoiseshell. The Peacock was flying around before landing and sunning on a fence panel, the Small Tort was at another location and...
