Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

I feel the large corporations like Swarovski and Zeiss have to charge more for their binoculars because they need or want that money in many cases to finance or aid other faltering divisions of the corporation. Swarovski's crystal division is hurting now because of the Chinese and Czech Republic...

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

With all the stuff going on like the Pandemic, I think people have shorter tempers than they used to also! We live in tough times now. I preferred the seventies because I think people were happier.

Nah, I don't want to be a girly boy. I want to read everybodies post because you might learn something interesting!

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

That is ok! I thought it was funny, but sometimes it is hard not to offend somebody when you post. When somebody reads a post, they can't "hear" the way you said it, and sometimes they take it differently. I experience that all the time!

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

I agree. I always watch the classified and the Binocular Bargain thread to see what comes up. Dries told me about those on the Binocular Bargain thread.

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

Meopta are manufactured fully "in house" with only the lower end Optika brand having outsourced Asian components, but final assembly is still in the Czech Republic. Here is an interesting article on Meopta and how their binoculars are built. It is very impressive. Manufacturing of components in...

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

dries1. Exactly. I don't agree with a lot of posts, but I just blow it off. But if you filter the good information from the not so good information, you can learn a lot on bird forum and pick up a lot of helpful and very valuable information. It is just like the Internet, you shouldn't believe...

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

Yes, I have tried just about all the mid-tier binoculars. I can understand your confidence in Meopta because they have been around a long time, but I don't think Maven or GPO is going away anytime soon. They both seem to really cater to hunter's offering rifle scopes and spotting scopes also...

Maven B1.2 or Meopta MeoPro Air?

My intent was not to hijack the thread, but give raptorbfl what IMO is a better binocular than his two choices at his price point to try for his benefit. Sorry, I suggested the GPO HD if it disrupted the continuity of the thread. If I had to pick between his two choices, I would choose the Maven...
