    If I could update my earlier post there's one day that stands out since: California off the coast: just wangled two places on a whale watching boat. Cassin's auklets & Marbled murrelets kept flying past & occasionally landing as we searched & searched for whales - then, just as we'd given up...

    Yes, three more magic moments. There were a few old twitching ticks which I could have included: difficult to know which to include & which to leave out. Fair Isle has a few good memories - Lancy & Stormy P in the hand (& all that great food) to name a couple.
