    matching the coatings in varying combinations allows: A. Flat transmission curve, or B. Higher peak at a color of your choice at expense of the rest. coatings is a big part of optics maker’s secret sauce, imo.

    Looking at the EL reflecting the cloudy sky, i see: purple, orange, white, green, white reflections. NL: purple, purple, yellow, blue, white These probably encode some kind of message but to me it just means multi-coated bino optimised to 90% efficient, neutral transmission.
