    North american bird I'd guide

    I have all of them and have found that I prefer Kaufman's field guide over all of them. It is very portable and I find the photos very useful. I know there is a big divide over paintings vs. photos - both have pluses and minuses. I do have to say that the Nat Geo will have species shown in it...
