Have you tried making one test with IBIS off and the other with ibis on? Could it be that the ibis moved the sensor but the focus was not adjusted to fit and therefore you see these inconsistencies (I believe you previously told that you have tested on stationary targets, not moving birds). Hermann, as stated I do not agree: If you had said upper level dSLR, then I would have agreed. Some of the new ones are entry level. Niels

Just one comment: I have not tried it myself, but DPReview said about the Pana G7 that tracking AF on that model was as good as entry level nikon and canon cameras. I realize that both brands have AF in upper models far better than their entry models, but m43 is not too far behind the dSLRs...

Re Puffins: very easy to get close to on the Faeroe Islands when I visited 30 years ago, don't know about today. Niels

Or perhaps wait for the EM1-ii to see what the hype about improved AF really is all about. Niels

I hope the new models (to be announced) of Oly/Pana cameras will have a quieter normal shutter. On the Pana GX80 they already say the have one with less risk for shutter shock. Niels

I don't know if you noticed, but the recently announced Pana GX85/GX80 (and whatever else it is going to be called) has a redesigned shutter with minimized shutter shock. Let us hope that soon spreads to other members of the m43 family. Niels

I expect to go the 100-400 way. I am likely to wait until I have some more reviews to look at, and I am hoping that the 1.4x TC might be useful with it. I am not sure which camera body to pair it with, the G7 has been called the m4/3 with the best continuous AF so far. Niels

Jules, I personally believe it is impossible to not have focusing problems when shooting over a lot of water. Having said that, your experiences mimics those I have with the pana 100-300 on a pana GH2 body: some images are just better than others taken few moments apart. I wonder how accurate...

Dan, the adapter you are using, is that a speed-booster type adapter or something else? Niels

Ron, I saw a post at 43rumours about Olympus getting a sensor from Sony with onboard PDAF. The said it might even be coming in the next OMD (or the one after that)? Niels
