    Thanks Geoff, I do not yet have the 100-400, but I am very happy with my current 100-300 and a pana camera. I do feel a little concerned with not knowing if the oly or the pana cameras being the best fit for the 100-400 when I get that one. Niels

    The thing that bothered me about that review was the biases that came out in the introduction. (I must admit that it was good that he did include his biases there). Bias 1: a lens like this must be stopped down. Bias two: therefore, diffraction will ruin all images taken with this lens...

    According to the rumours site, Amazon UK expects this lens to ship on February 29 and the Oly 300 the following day. That hopefully means that we will get much more feedback on what these lenses are like in real use, and for the Pana lens, if it makes any difference to have routine production...

    A video of a pre-production lens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm2VL0D-hNs About 25 sec into the video there is a period where he shows the back end of the lens. It seems to have a piece of glass all the way back, which indicates (unfortunately) that the oly 1.4x TC will not work. Niels

    I also see one in my future. Just have to be sure that the extra lbs will not be a problem for me carrying it around. Niels (edit: the last sentence was a comparison to my present lens the 100-300, the new lens is about 1 lbs heavier)

    So still problems with shutter shock on the Oly lens ... I am looking forward to seeing more on the panasonic lens, hopefully they will make a test of that one as well. Niels
