    A few from Saguaro National Park, Arizona, US, March 19, 2022

    To me the head pattern, especially in the malar region is not nearly as well defined as normally seen in Rufous-crowned. Despite Sibley's description of a short bill, I think the head pattern and the rufous lesser coverts make this bird (5) a better candidate for Rufous-winged Sparrow. Peter
