    If only someone had posted on page one of this thread that the bird at Benacre was a Marsh Harrier with a few white feathers... Hi Frenchy! Been slagged off on BF recently for correctly identifiying a bird?

    Three points: 1. Doesn't Swainson's Hawk have fewer exposed primaries on its wingtip than the Benacre bird? 2. Raptors are most easily aged by the effects of their staggered moult and not by the amount of wear. 3. The black specks in bananas are tarantula eggs, everyone knows that. John PS...
