Here is some minimal birding gear, a 7x35 for less than the Action 7x35, about 30 dollars for those places that carry it

It may be about the same as the typical Simmons pair, but actually good value for the money. You will see your back yard bird feeder fine with these and if they fall off the table, well...no big loss.

The Actions DO have even wider a field.
