Hi All,

Can you please help ID these 3 species.

All taken between November and Jan near Muscat, Oman.

I would have said the Redstart is actually (Eastern) Black Redstart. The dusky throat extends onto the upper breast and the bird is generally too dark and dingy for samisicus. Common Redstart of any form would be very unusual at this time of year in Oman - any redstart which is not black would be more likely to be Eversmann's!
 
Thanks Andy. The dusky throat extends about 0.5 times head size, which is more like Common. However to it does extend to the sides as in a phoenicuroides. What do you think?

Tough, but I think I'd marginally favour a Black Redstart - the overall upperparts strike me as a bit too grey for Common
