MEGA for Leicestershire: Kentish Plover at Eyebrook Reservoir (1 Viewer)

A great mornings birding at Eyebrook with challenging blustery wind & the birds getting spooked & taking to the air very frequently. After distant views of the Kentish Plover, patience payed off with good views of the KP & the Pectoral Sandpiper by staying faithfull to our chosen position on the Eastern side at the inflow end. Quite alot of people at Eyebrook today enjoying two smart birds. What else is out there I wonder, I'll certainly be out in the field tomorrow.

Neil.

And many thanks to the finder/s if there reading:)

An excellent three hours in what started out as quite challenging weather conditions with wind and rain. Initially, I could not locate the Plover but after a period of terrential rain it showed. Had cracking views of it feeding on the edge of the inflow from the east side. Also had good views of it in flight on at least three occassions through my scope.

A great bird for Eyebrook and also for Leicestershire.
