Gull identification Yucatan Peninsular, Mexico (1 Viewer)

I have just returned from a very enjoyable holiday in Mexico. I stayed at Riu Lupita, in Playacar and took advantage of a day trip with a local guide, Luis Ku Quinones, but most of the time was spent around the hotel. All in all I saw 130 species and hope to do a trip report shortly.

On the local beach was a flock of Laughing Gulls with one larger gull. I assume from location it is an American Herring Gull but would appreciate confirmation as immature gulls still confuse me.

It isn't Herring Gull. To my eye, it looks like 2nd cycle Lesser Black-back, it appears they get that far south now.

Just a stab, to get you started.....
