Hi everyone,

Was looking out of my kitchen window today and spotted a bird with a red beak.
It was larger than a female blackbird, but was similar in colouring, but its feathers looked more ruffled.Got my bins out and various books but i,m stumped!
Any ideas anyone?

Christine
:h?: :h?:

Well it was about twice the size of a blackbird,i hadn't thought
it may have been caused by a meal!
Beak was bright crimson, seemed quite content to sit in the tree
despite the infernal drilling that was going on right behind it!
It disappeared into some undergrowth and that was the last i saw of it.

Christine.

Hi everyone,

Its legs were a sort of light brown in colour, its beak pretty much the same as a blackbird. It sat with its beak open for a while.
And yes hampstead ponds are not too far away i guess.
So probably a rather large female Blackbird that had just scoffed a load of berries then!!

Christine.
