the nelson is similar to a saltmarsh sparrow so I wanted to be sure.there moving thru new York now,we don't get a lot of them.saltmarsh sparrows breed in new York's marshes,not the nelson's though.fos for the nelson for me.
 
Saltmash Sparrow would have more distinct streaking on the breast and a less distinct border between the breast and the belly.

We've had them moving through southern Pennsylvania for about two weeks now.
