Today at the Moors
A full hide late morning with plenty of the work party crew, from both past and present. Good banter and a nice selection of 'brand new scopes and bins courtesy of http://www.birders-store.co.uk/. on show.
Both the Flashes (Bob O) and Moors (Clive L)were covered from before first light.
Andy P took over the Flashes and plenty of people were scattered about most of the day.
A quiet start at the Moors, but by 10am there was plenty to see.
The snipe numbers have very obviously increased. With at least 30 on 'snipe island' At 9.10 a flock of birds from the Flashes dropped in, this included many shoveler and the avocet. Good numbers of duck were present, mostly concentrated along the southern end of the Moors and Amy's marsh. A bit of Vis Mig involved small numbers of skylark, meadow pipit and redwing.
