You can continue south along Route 113 in the Delmarva peninsula until you cross the border into Virginia and visit Chincoteague National wildlife Refuge where your children can see the famous wild ponys. Assateague Island National Seashore is nearby for sea birds.

Near Oxford in Chester County is small Marsh Creek State Park with hiking trails and horseback riding such and just north in adjoining Berks County next to Crow's nest park is large French Creek State Park with a variety activities including boating and camping. Both parks have environmental centers and they are an easy drive from Oxford.

If you go to Middle Creek now there are about 50,000 Snow Geese there. You want to be there early morning or mid-late afternoon (3-4:00) because during the day they are out feeding.
