At first I thought this was a
Tufty but now I'm not sure
and would appreciate some help

Male Tufties coming out of eclipse shouldn't show any white on the face (unless its moulting from juv plumage).... Ok, time to through a spanner in the works, Tufted X Ring-necked Duck me thinks.....

EDIT: On second thoughts, the white on the face is the wrong shape for RN Duck, and the neck collar wouldn't be that pale either... maybe it is just a young male Tufted.
