Went on Sunday but was disappointed to see the bottom lake almost drained of water for repairs and the bird hide closed (entrance to stairs sealed off)

Not sure how long repair work will go on or how long the hide will be closed - sent an email to the enquiry address but had nothing back yet.

Will update if I hear anything.

Had a reply from YSP:

The path to the bird hide is temporarily closed until further tree works can be completed in the area. We hope to have it re opened in approximately four weeks time.

The lower lake has been lowered by approximately 1 meter in preparation for some planned maintenance and improvements to the Dam which Wakefield Council will be undertaking next year. The lake levels could potentially remain low for 6 months but this is yet to be confirmed.

I hope this helps you plan your next visit but as always please feel free to call us on 01924 832631 to check any details before you travel.
