Hello to all,

I photographed these two last sunday in Vermillion, Oh. Pretty sure one is semi-Palmated Piper. Other looks like Buff Breasted but out of range. Can anyone help?

Thanks

The one on the left is a Buff-breasted Sandpiper. They are migrating at present so could occur almost anywhere, irrespective of their supposed range. The other bird looks like a Sanderling.

Agree with both IDs. The right-hand bird is too large for a Semipalmated Sandpiper. I wish Buff-breasted Sandpipers were more common in my neck of the woods; I haven't seen one for years.
