Malarone is the trade name for a *combination* of proguanil and atovaquone. Proguanil may be cheaper, but it's not a generic version of malarone and won't produce the same effects.

Anyone who asks for a generic Malarone will be steered to Proguanil with whatever else is required for the same effective cover as Malarone.
