Skua ID UK - Pom or Arctic? (1 Viewer)

I'm pretty sure these are Poms, but I could do with some confirmation.

Five of them seen this morning from North Gare Pier, Seaton Carew.

I'd go for Pomarine. The weight seems to be centered around the chest, it appears quite big, and the underwing contrasts with the flanks.
 
Yep - Juv dark-phase Pom. Pale base to under-wing primary coverts, broad wing "arm", heavy set to body, very-noticeably two-tone blue-based bill, and almost the size of the Herring Gull giving it a taste of it's own medicine!
 
hi Ian - Those pics are great, out of interest - what camera and lens did you use?

Thanks. They're taken with the Canon 20D+Canon 400mm f5,6. They were pretty obliging, flying overhead whilst I was sat on the end of the pier. They were taken from around 30m.
