Goldfinch Migration Early in North Texas? (2 Viewers)

February 27th was the last day I had swarms of GoldFinches at my feeders. Co-incidentally, it was the day my husband brought home 20 more pounds of thistle seed... :)

Isn't this awfully early for the North Texas area?

What makes them migrate so early?
