I've had the 8mm-25mm zoom (Vixen LV Zoom)for a long time, and it works very well, though sometimes a bit dim at the 8mm (49x) end. I sometimes like to have something a bit better than binocular view for close up birds. I use this 30mm eye piece then. I also use it to take some beginner birders out as they are not familiar with my rubber cup eye piece and I get tired of adjusting it. The cup here works for anyone.
The view is pretty bright and at least as good as my 8x and 10x binoculars. 30mm comes out to 13x.
Other than that I once tried a 5mm Vixen just to see what it does. It was worse than the zoom at 8mm, dimmer and image breaking up. The 6mm to 8mm individual eye pieces may be of some use on the bigger Pentax, but 8mm and 10mm is the limit here.
I digiscoped with an iPhone but the phone decided to focus on the grass and not the gulls behind it. At 30mm.
