I photographed this moth in june last year in my garden I know it is one of the Cream Wave moths but unsure which one.

Thanks Paul, yes this photo is Unfortuneately over Exposed, I had another picture of the same moth a better one Somehow that has vanished unless I deleted it by accident tonight, I have only ever seen The plain form before I have never seen the typical form before, The aberrant looking one on the Link Is a stunning moth.

The "plain" form seems to outnumber the "normal" form considerably at least in Hampshire. I've surely seen at least one hundred of the species and only one was a "normal" form which I saw in Wales.

I get both here in Notts almost nightly but the plain outnumber the 'normal' by c50-1

I wonder where the "typical" form is actually typical - again, round here the plain form outnumbers typical, at a guess by at least 20 to 1.
