Cornwall Birding (3 Viewers)

Top pics Tav94, must have been great views from the boat. Can't wait to get back down to Cornwall now.
Thanks.
Henerz.

Glad you liked the shots this is the first time that i have taken pics from the boat of the bird life out here some days there are loads of birds,i see a lot of migrants in the spring get the odd bird land on the boat, the best was a Scops Owl found it under the deck winch stayed on board for a day them left.

Great pics Tav - I have just got back (yesterday) from 5 days in St Ives. I have been there so many times, but never with any interest in the birding side, so it was amusing for that factor... seeing birds which have probably been passing me by unnoticed before.

I have to say that seeing gannets fishing was rather good, though they were a tad too far out for any pics. Saw some fulmars too, and probably others which I didn't recognise.

Also popped over to Wheal Cotes, as I spotted peregrines there last time. Saw them again albeit briefly yesterday, plus several kestrels, more gannets and a smattering of wheatears, pipits and stonechats.

On a different note - I have to say that the colours from the heather and wild flowers near Wheal Cotes is absolutely stunning. Worth seeing for that alone!

Rame to Looe from trawler.

No Petrels today just 2 Manx Shearwater, and loads of gulls and Gannets, saw 1 Barn swallow about 30 milles out from Looe.

Brilliant photos once again Tav94. You're making me want to get out on one of those pelagics, now!

Paul, I'll be back in Falmouth for the last week of Sept, which is not perfect but should leave 1 good week of birding while stuff is on the move. Hopefully we'll meet up sometime (when the next mega turns up at College Res i'm hoping!). Thanks.
