whats that bird

"Black Throated Diver" has been photographed yesterday on a local lake. (Photograph on Potteric Carr Website).

As a beginner to birdwatching it would be a "lifer" for me, if it was still there today, that is.

So before I rush out, defrost the car, abandon my ironing pile etc ..... whats the chances of seeing this in my local area in the future.

Would the current weather conditions having bearing on it being in my area (doncaster).

Your views are much appreciated.
