When seagars (2) bite Ospreys’ butt and leg (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I know that here there are a few people who like Ospreys a lot. Perhaps these photos you find interesting when Ospreys were taking needlefish (seagar) - most likely Atlantic needlefish (also known as needlegar or saltwater gar); fishermen might correct me if I am wrong.

First Osprey ended up with butt bite

Then leg bite

But somehow got the needlefish under partial control and flown away with it when fish toothed jaws still kept grip on his leg

When after 8 minutes another Osprey came and caught needlefish first I thought that the first one came back after loosing its meal but this Osprey was a different one.

After getting bite on leg (digit)

Osprey quickly let the fish go (BTW another example showing that the myth about Ospreys locking talons on prey and can’t loose the grip is coming from fairy tale’s land)

And fish loosened its grip felt down
